This workshop will accommodate up to a maximum of 25 participants. Focus will be on Caribbean dance styles and rhythms. A latter aspect of the programme will be Caribbean street dance based on the traditions such as the Moko Jumbie, Masquerades, Junkanoo, Quadrille etc.
The participants will be encouraged to do some research on their own to give more meaning to what they are doing. The research will also be used to assist with the design of costumes to be used in showcasing what has been taught at the workshops.
Participants must be prepared to participate in performances to showcase the work produced in the workshop. It is expected that the training will result in the establishment of new dance groups or to enhance the repertoire of existing groups.
