Carnival Arts workshops in preparation for Carnival 2010 are already in progress. The Dance Workshops with children ages 5 to 16 started in May and will continue right through to Carnival Day on August 7th. Classes are held on Saturdays only.

African Drumming and Dance, Calypso and Soca Music as well as Costume making sessions for groups participating in Carnival will begin in June. If you have not yet registered your troupe or float please make contact with the Carnival Office ASAP.

The Calypso & Soca Music Workshop is a continuation of the programme started two years ago. It is open to residents of all ages and abilities who are interested in learning about the art form. No experience required.

At the end of the workshops participants will showcase their work in programmes organised by Leicester Caribbean Carnival and at other events.

Spaces are limited so please register with the Leicester Caribbean Carnival Office on or before 15th June 2010. All workshops take place at the Leicester Caribbean Carnival Arts Centre on Elizabeth Street.
